This page describes/lists new things which are happening, or are soon to be happening around RPE. New stuff that's here and available, stuff that we're pretty sure will be showing up soon and maybe even a few rumors about stuff that we MIGHT someday see!
Change in engine line up - 2706 and
2704 engines have now been replaced with the new 3202-55Hp engine and
the 3203 65Hp engines. Basically the same as 2704/06 with some
improvements. 5% more fuel efficient, cooler EGT's and CHT's
throughout the RPM range and improved torque curve in the midrange.
F-33 engine - Change in Hp options. Previously sold in the standard 25Hp version or with an optional 30Hp tuned pipe. The tuned version was to expensive and cumbersome to install. Hirth found a new off the shelf exhaust that when combined with a new cylinder design makes 28Hp. This new setup can be sold for the same price as the old 25Hp version and is much easier to install. 28Hp is now the only option we offer.
Electronic fuel injection - Option Presently Available on F23, F30, 3701, F30ES, 2704/3202 and 2706/3203 engines.
NOW Available - 3701 - Now available with carburetors at substantially less cost than fuel injection version. 84 Hp high torque low Rpm version of 3701 is now avaialble.
NOW Available - F-23 two cylinder opposed engine is back in production. New F-23 is 50Hp and has a new twin exhaust system. Twin float carbs is still standard or optional twin diaphragm carbs or electronic fuel injection can be used. A re designed belt drive that is 1/2 the weight of the original multi groove drive is now available for use on the F-23 and 2702 engines.
NOW Available - Optional manual fuel enrichment control for fuel injection.
NOW Available - Rubber air guide inserts that seal off the spark plug holes in air guide on 2706 and 2704 engines. Lowers CHT 20 to 30 degrees.
NOW Available - New gear ratio (3.33:1) for G-40 gearbox .
NOW Available - Electric start for F33 and F36 engines.
NOW Available - Improved fan belt system for dual fan F30's. New system uses a 2v belt instead of the yellow flat belt. Upgrade kits available for older F30's.
NOW Available - Optional oil injection for 3203, 3202 3701, 3503, and F-23 engines.
NOW Available - New H-30 engine. Special helicopter version of 4 cylinder F30 -105Hp.
NOW Available - New H-32 engine. Special helicopter 2 cylinder engine -60Hp.
NOW Available - New H-37 engine. Special helicopter 3 cylinder water cooled engine -90Hp.
NOW Available - Clutch option for G-50 gearbox. Can be used on all 2 cylinder engines.
NOW Available - F-33 Engine mounting kit for Ravensnest Trikosoarus Ultralight Tryke.

NOW Available - Challenger engine mount & cogbelt redrive system. Used to install Hirth 2702/03/04/06 & 3202/03 & 3503 engines to Challenger I or II aircraft. For a 103 leagal Ultralight Challenger there is now an engine mount for the 28Hp F-33 engine Total weight with electric start, exhaust and engine mounting kit is 51 pounds.

Now Available - 3503-70Hp 2 cylinder water cooled engine. 3502 60Hp available April 2007 .
